do dogs get overprotective of their ownwers ?
lately roxy has been baring her teeth at others if they came close to me ,she sat in my lap while i was showing somebody something on the computer, every time she reached across me to point at something roxy bared her teeth and growled at her.this is new behavior ,and i don't want it to become habbit.any suggestions ?

It just could be the energy the person is putting out. Dogs are very sensitive. Sometimes they learn a new trick and she is trying it out on people. I had a very big dog for 14 years and if it was a good friend, and my dog would start barking, I would tell him no, no bark. Do the same with yours, just say, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, DON'T DO THAT, and she will stop. Sometimes a little spank on the butt works every time just to let her know who the boss is.

A sharp NO! every time this happens should stop her,if you do it every time.
Animals learn by repetition of words and signals. I had a German Shepherd that i used voice commands or hand signals for her obedience work.
